DATA Meets Development

If you’re looking for an activity that builds your child’s confidence, teaches valuable life skills, and keeps them active, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is an excellent choice. Recent research and parent feedback reveal just how powerful BJJ can be for kids:

Boosted Confidence

96% of parents said jiu-jitsu helped their child feel more confident — both on and off the mats.

Reduced Anxiety & Emotional Control

Nearly 88% saw improvements in how their kids handled stress and challenges.

Social Skills & Belonging

Our classes help kids communicate, collaborate, and form strong friendships.

Discipline, Respect, and Responsibility

Every class helps build positive habits like listening, persistence, and self-control.

Full-Body Fitness That Feels Like Play

Jiu-jitsu builds strength, cardio, balance, and coordination — without needing to push kids like a bootcamp.

Non-Violent Self-Defence

BJJ gives kids practical tools to stay safe, without encouraging aggressive behaviour.

Better Focus & School Readiness

Kids develop memory, concentration, and problem-solving through interactive drills and grappling games.

Resilience Through Challenge

Jiu-jitsu teaches kids how to stay calm under pressure, problem-solve in real time, and bounce back from setbacks — building grit they’ll carry into school, sports, and life.

What Is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a non-striking martial art that focuses on grappling, body control, and leverage. Instead of teaching kids how to punch or kick, it teaches them how to safely control space, move their body with purpose, and defend themselves using technique — not force.

In simple terms: it’s like wrestling meets problem-solving — where the goal isn’t to hurt, but to out-think and out-move your opponent.

It’s a safe and supportive way for kids to develop physical coordination, emotional control, and confidence — all while making friends and having fun.

BJJ is for everyone — shy kids, high-energy kids, first-timers, and future athletes alike.

Is My Child Ready for Jiu-Jitsu?

Absolutely!

They don’t need to be athletic, confident, or competitive to start. Many of our students come in shy, unsure, or full of energy — and that’s exactly who this program is built for.

Our goal is to help every child grow at their own pace, while learning valuable life skills in a fun, supportive environment.

Our Class Groups

6 Years & Under (Parent-Assisted)
  • Fun, play-based learning to develop balance, movement, and coordination

  • Parents are invited to assist on the mats to support their child during class

  • Focus on simple grappling concepts and building confidence through games

  • A safe, supportive introduction to jiu-jitsu and working with others

7 Years & Over

  • Age-appropriate resistance training to help build problem-solving and body awareness

  • Conceptual games, positional control, and guided sparring in a safe and positive environment

Kids Transitioning to the Adult Class
  • For older or more advanced kids who are physically, emotionally, and technically ready for the next step

  • These students may attend select beginner or fundamentals adult classes with coach approval

  • We assess each child individually to make sure they’re set up for success in a bigger, faster-paced class

  • A great way to build maturity and accelerate skill development

A Place to Grow Up Strong

Jiu-jitsu gives your child more than technique — it gives them confidence, community, and a safe place to become who they are.
We’d love to be part of that journey.
